How to Order a Custom Sign | The Renmy Store

How to Order a Custom Sign — It's Easier Than You Think! 📝

At The Renmy Store, ordering a custom sign is simple and stress-free. Every sign is designed by Mick, our qualified Graphic Artist based in Agnes Water, Queensland — so you're in expert hands from start to finish. Whether it's a personalised house sign, a farm gate sign, or a commercial shopfront — here's exactly how it works.

Step 1 — Choose Your Sign

Browse our range and choose the sign style that suits you best:

  • 🧲 Metal Corten Steel Signs — rustic, durable, and develop a beautiful natural patina over time. Perfect for outdoors.
  • 📍 Acrylic Signs — sleek, modern, and weather resistant. Great for indoor and outdoor use.
  • 🌳 Timber Style Signs — warm and natural. Perfect for farmhouse, coastal, and rustic aesthetics.

Not sure which style suits you? Contact us and we'll help you choose!

Step 2 — Place Your Order

Once you've found your sign, add it to your cart and proceed to checkout. On the product page, select your options before adding to cart:

  • 📏 Size — select your preferred size from the available options on the product page
  • 🔧 Hanging or Plaque — select your preferred mounting option on the product page:
    • Hanging Sign — metal wire pre-attached at each top corner, ready to hang from any nail or screw
    • Plaque Sign — flat plaque with no hanging attachments; mount using double-sided tape, command strips, or adhesive hooks

Then in the order notes field at checkout, include:

  • ✏️ Your custom text (name, property name, address, saying etc.)
  • 🎨 Font preferences — signs are produced using the fonts shown in the product photos. If you'd like a different font style, please mention this when ordering or contact us to discuss options. For example: script/cursive fonts, bold block fonts, handwritten styles — just let us know your preference and Mick will do his best to accommodate!
  • 🔧 Hole locations (if required) — we do not drill signs as standard. If you require pre-drilled holes for mounting, please advise the exact location(s) in your order notes (e.g. top left and top right corners, centre top etc.). Drilling without prior advice may damage the sign material.

💡 Tip: The more detail you provide, the faster we can get your sign into production!

Step 3 — We Design Your Sign

Once your order is received, Mick gets to work on your design. For most standard personalised signs this happens quickly — for more complex commercial or large format signs, we may contact you to discuss your requirements further before production begins.

Please allow 1–5 business days for production depending on the complexity of your sign.

Step 4 — Proofs & Approval

For our standard personalised signs, we offer basic text changes and proceed directly to production — we do not send a design proof as standard. If you would like a computer image proof before your sign is produced, please request this in your order notes at checkout and we'll arrange one for you.

For full custom and complex orders (large format, commercial, or signs requiring custom artwork), one computer image proof is included for approval before production begins. Please note that further graphic design charges may apply for multiple rounds of changes — we will always advise you of any additional costs before proceeding.

Step 5 — Production & Dispatch

Once approved (or for standard orders, once designed), your sign goes into production. Every sign is carefully checked before being securely packaged and dispatched via Australia Post or courier with tracking.

Step 6 — Delivered to Your Door!

Sit back and wait for your sign to arrive — free delivery Australia-wide is included on all orders. Most signs are received within 4–7 business days. Need it urgently? Select Express Post at checkout for just $7.00–$9.50.

⚠️ A Note About AI-Generated Logos & Images

We understand many customers now use AI tools to create logo concepts and design ideas — and while these can be a great starting point, AI-generated images are often not print-ready. They are typically low resolution, contain distorted text, or lack the technical file specifications required for high-quality sign production.

If you supply an AI-generated image or logo, Mick may need to professionally redraw or recreate the artwork to ensure it meets print-quality standards. In these cases, a graphic design fee may apply depending on the complexity of the work required. We will always advise you of any additional design charges before proceeding — no surprises!

For best results, supply artwork in vector format (.ai, .eps, .svg) or high-resolution .pdf/.png files where possible. Not sure what you have? Just send it through and Mick will assess it for you.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change the text on any sign?

Yes! Any listing marked as “custom” or “personalised” can have the text changed to whatever you like. Simply add your details in the order notes at checkout.

What if I make a spelling mistake in my order?

Please double-check all spelling before submitting your order as signs are produced exactly as requested. If you notice a mistake, contact us as soon as possible via text or email and we'll do our best to correct it before production begins.

Can I see a proof before my sign is made?

For standard personalised signs we proceed directly to production without a proof. If you'd like a computer image proof, please request this in your order notes at checkout. For complex or large format custom signs, one proof is included as standard — please note further graphic design charges may apply for multiple changes.

Can I request a specific font?

Yes! Signs are produced using the fonts shown in the product photos, but if you'd like a different style — such as a script, bold, or handwritten font — simply mention it in your order notes or contact us and Mick will do his best to accommodate your request.

Can I get pre-drilled holes in my sign?

We do not drill signs as standard — please do not attempt to drill the sign yourself as this may damage the material. If you require pre-drilled holes, advise the exact location(s) in your order notes at checkout (e.g. top left and top right corners) and we'll take care of it for you.

What is the difference between a Hanging Sign and a Plaque Sign?

A Hanging Sign comes with metal wire pre-attached at each top corner — simply hang from any nail or screw. A Plaque Sign is a flat sign with no hanging attachments, designed to be mounted using double-sided tape, command strips, or adhesive hooks. If you need pre-drilled holes on a plaque sign, just advise the location(s) in your order notes.

How long does production take?

Most standard custom signs are produced within 1–5 business days. Complex or large format signs may take longer — contact us if you need your sign by a specific date.

Do you offer installation?

Yes! We offer a full installation service from the Sunshine Coast to Agnes Water 1770, including Bundaberg and Gladstone. Learn more about our sign installation service →

No returns on custom signs?

As all custom signs are made specifically for you, we are unable to accept returns for change of mind. Please refer to our Returns Policy for full details.
